Unipromet at the Expert Conference on EPD Methodology
The company Unipromet participated in an expert conference dedicated to one of the key topics of modern sustainable development – the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), as part of the presentation “A Practical Guide to EPD: From Voluntary to Mandatory”, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
The event brought together around 40 representatives from companies across various industrial sectors, all sharing a common goal – to enhance their knowledge of implementing and understanding the significance of EPD methodology in business processes.
During the program, participants had the opportunity to hear numerous expert lectures and practical examples of EPD implementation, ranging from increasing transparency and competitiveness to achieving compliance with the requirements of international markets and European regulations.
Unipromet’s Experience in Implementing the EPD Methodology
As part of the professional discussion, Marija Majstorović, Chemical Process Technologist and representative of Unipromet, shared insights from the company’s process of introducing the EPD methodology into its operations.
She emphasized that the need for implementing EPD methodology arose from the demands of key clients in developed EU markets, especially in Germany and France, where sustainability and transparency standards are extremely high. She also noted that the introduction of this methodology requires the involvement of all company sectors, as well as systematic management of the process by competent professionals.
Importance for Domestic Industry and Future Development
According to available data, 30 business entities from the region have successfully verified their EPD documents so far, indicating that awareness of the importance of sustainable production and environmental protection is increasingly present in the domestic industrial environment.
The conference provided participants with valuable insight into the verification process and international standards, as well as an opportunity to exchange experiences with companies that have already embarked on this path.
It is expected that the importance of EPD documentation will continue to grow in the coming period, especially for domestic manufacturers, designers, and contractors who operate or plan to enter the European market.
Unipromet: Commitment to Development and Responsible Business
By participating in this event, Unipromet once again affirmed its commitment to improving quality, innovation, and sustainable development.
Through the implementation of the EPD methodology, Unipromet not only meets high environmental and technical standards but also contributes to fostering a culture of responsible business and raising awareness of the importance of sustainable practices within the domestic economy.
