Over the past three months, students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak and a student from EU Business School in Barcelona had the opportunity to explore various aspects of work at Unipromet through the Summer Internship Program, apply the knowledge gained during their studies and take their first steps in a professional environment.

From Theory to Practical Tasks

The Summer Internship Program gives young people the opportunity to view what they learn during their studies from a different perspective—by working on practical assignments and becoming familiar with production processes, modern technologies and the day-to-day operations of different company departments.

Through hands-on work and daily collaboration with their mentors, the participants were able to join team activities, become familiar with specific business processes and gain experience that goes beyond theoretical knowledge.

For some, this was their first encounter with a real business environment, while for others, the internship was an opportunity to explore further the field they may wish to pursue in the future.

Mentorship as an Important Part of the Experience

Mentorship gives the program particular value. Direct support from experienced colleagues, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the opportunity to ask questions and find solutions independently enable students to gradually develop confidence and independence in their work.

At the same time, the internship was also a valuable experience for the mentors themselves. By sharing their knowledge with the next generation, they had the opportunity to view certain processes from a different perspective and exchange experiences and ideas while working with their younger colleagues.

Their impressions clearly demonstrate how valuable the program was for both sides.

For us, the Summer Internship Program is more than an opportunity for students to get to know the company. It is a platform for connecting education and industry, exchanging knowledge and creating new opportunities for young people who are just beginning to build their professional paths.

Through direct work with mentors and colleagues, students have the opportunity to learn more about their own interests, explore opportunities for further development and take their first steps toward a career.

At the same time, their energy, questions and fresh perspectives remind us how important knowledge-sharing and investing in young people are as foundations for long-term development.
